Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson remains a chance to feature in City’s final Premier League game of the season against West Ham it has emerged. It would be a bonus if City’s number one keeper can start Sunday’s game at the Etihad Stadium.

The Brazilian international was substituted during the second half of City’s 2-nil win over Tottenham. He was replaced by Stefan Ortega after suffering a nasty looking eye injury. Ederson was on the receiving end of a nasty challenge from Cristian Romero. But a new report indicates that Ederson may be a chance to feature on Sunday.

Jack Gaughan has reported for the Daily Mail that Ederson’s teammates believe he will be fine for Sunday’s match against West Ham. Furthermore, Gaughan reports that Ederson’s eye was reportedly a mess following Tuesday night’s game. Jack Gaughan also reports that while Ederson was unhappy to be substituted during the game, he understood the decision following the final whistle.

The update on Ederson’s condition does appear to be positive news for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola will be hoping to have all hands on deck for Sunday’s clash with West Ham. A win would see City claim a fourth consecutive Premier League title. Pep Guardiola is due to face the media tomorrow where a further update on Ederson’s condition is expected.

If he doesn’t come up in time, then Stefan Ortega will start in goal. The German keeper was the hero of City’s win over Tottenham. If he is called upon to start on Sunday in place of Ederson, Manchester City know they will have a quality shot stopper in goal.
